REVOLUTIONARY NATURE OF THE DECEMBRIST MOVEMENT:
ISTORIKO-LEGAL ASPECT
(CENTURY REVOLUTION IN RUSSIA DEDICATED)

Abstract.
The article deals with the formation and contradictions in the definition of the essence of the
revolutionary movement of the Decembrists. Analyzing the content of works and projects of government created by the
Decembrists, as well as scientific works of Soviet historians, written in line with the domestic dekabristovedeniya, the
author comes to the conclusion that there are discrepancies in the seemingly obvious name uprising at Senate Square
revolution. For Soviet historiography the image of the Decembrists, and Decembrist movement, received a certain
ideological coloration and becoming a truly heroic, he acted as a tool with which the Bolshevik Party theorists,
followed by the Soviet historians constructed history of the revolutionary liberation movement in general and the
history of the Great October Revolution, in particular, . Herzen created a heroic image of the December uprising,
which was subsequently used by Lenin to be among the priorities, the history of the Decembrist movement was one of
the most developed in the Soviet period. Soviet historiography has been formulated, as it seemed, monolithic convincing
concept based on Lenin's definition of noble revolutionary. However, if the phenomenon of December 14 to make the
usual signs of the revolution, it would appear that he did not have an affinity with it. The desire to go beyond the dogma
of the noble revolutionary spirit in the subject history of secret societies in Russia stimulates the modern scientific
interest in the problem of the Decembrist movement. However, the revaluation of the central moments of the
Decembrists movement historiography by conceptual correlate activity Decembrist organizations with a revolutionary
tradition, or to the development of constitutional ideas in Russia leads to the question in the fundamental postulate of
the Leninist concept of continuity. The obvious and based on a long tradition of national historiography
dekabristovedeniya revolutionary Decembrists movement is no longer so obvious, although not reducing the value of
the uprising at Senate Square in the history of our state.
