THE DESIGN OF THE DISCOURSE OF HIGHER EDUCATION AS MEANS OF FORMATION

Abstract.
The article covers the issues of social constructivists discourse of the contemporary higher education
in purpose of reflexive management of educational institution. The necessity of study of interdisciplinary issues condi-
tioned by modern sociocultural sphere, transformed job market and modernized higher education is conceptualized in
the research. The author exposes the characteristics of the contemporary social culture, proves the popularity of con-
structivist and discursive methods of research and defines the basic notions of the new system of professional standard-
ized system.
The article covers the definitions «professional education», «professional identity» using the competence ap-
proach. The author defines the notions of «discourse», «higher education discourse», «professional discourse» with the
generalisations of the interdisciplinary researches. Higher education discourse is assumed to be value field of all corpus
of texts on professional body of knowledge on the qualification, containing descriptions of principles, laws and exam-
ples of professional experience by means of foreign professional communication. The article covers the contents of the
concepts «foreign language for specific purposes», «professionally – oriented language texts», «discourse competence».
By acquiring professional foreign communicative experience during the studying a foreign language, a student
masters «new» social professional identities, gains learning professional communicative experience in the foreign lan-
guage, shapes his initial professional identity.
The author comes to conclusion that professional communicative discourse construction targets the construction
of the professional linguistic personality, demands the professional value- oriented text selection, application of the hu-
manitarian methods of cooperation (critical thinking method, reflexive thinking method) and construction of assessment
of the discursive competence.
